Visually the movie is pretty easy on the eye thanks to Thota Tharani’s art work and Vijay C Kumar’s cinematography. The music isn’t bad but doesn’t have the overwhelming quality of Happy Days. Part of the reason could be the leisurely pace at which the movie unfolds and the pleasant but not-so-wow-music. However, the emotional curve doesn’t stay up constant right through the length of movie, running into a trifle less than three hours. The movie packs quite a few moments that tug at your emotions, especially the climax where Srini’s little sister makes a speech about her mother. The film weaves a plot around how all these kids come of age, each having to overcome their set of challenges. The whole of first half goes into establishing these alluringly ordinary characters through festivals, celebrations, bet matches, intra colony rivalries and innocent infatuations. Padu (Shagun) a cousin of Srinu happens to be his love interest. Nagaraj falls for her and helps her finding a job. Then there is Lakshmi (Zara), daughter of a watchman who wants to study well and get ahead in life. He is head over heels in love with Paru (Shriya Saran), daughter of a real estate baron who dreams of becoming Miss India. He speaks with a Telangana twang and readily offers himself to anyone in need of help.Ībhi is the smooth talking magician with a penchant for gifting chocolates and amusing one-liners that lands him in trouble often.

Nagaraj, a son of a cab driver is the typical dimwit with a heart of gold. Even as Srinu struggles to grapple with playing the responsible elder brother to his kid sisters he befriends Nagaraj (Sudhakar) and Abhi (Kaushik). Srinu and his sisters - Satya and Chinni – move into the B-Phase where their uncle, a not-so-well-to-do lawyer lives. The B-Block kids don’t like the Gold Phase neighbors who call them “B-Phase-dogs” and are always trying go one up on them. Then there is the B-Block, which is an idyllic middle class community with affable, happy go lucky kids playing gully cricket, tree houses, conservative but loving parents struggling to make ends meet, loving grand parents and neighbors that celebrate festivals together, a hot aunty (Anjala Zaveri) who loves to dance when it rains and a beautiful lake by a old Peepal tree. For this movie the filmmaker has created Sunshine Colony where the rich and the not so rich live in different “phases.” There is Gold Phase, with the plush swimming pool, swanky cars and bratty teenagers. Dragged Second half is a let down.Īmala’s come back has lot of expectations but the role in the movie is a key role but she has very little to offer. But Sekhar Kammula managed to bring in good humor during the first half. The Theme of the movie is not anything new. Rest of the movie is about how they worked towards their goals. Movie takes a turn when they see an unexpected life changing event to one of their closed ones. Movie is about three youngsters Srinu, Nagaraj and Abhi’s realization of life while trying to exploring their love interests.
